Treating coronary artery blockages and peripheral artery disease (PAD) is becoming easier with new technology known as “cool” laser ablation. St. Vincent’s East, “your heart hospital,” has been named a national Center of Excellence for Spectranetics; and is the only site in the Southeast that trains physicians on both coronary and peripheral applications using the excimer laser.
Not only a leader in this laser heart treatment, St. Vincent’s East, is one of a small number of Alabama hospitals using medically induced hypothermia procedures to preserve brain function in cardiac arrest patients. Plus, at St. Vincent’s East, you’ll be treated by one of only seven hospitals in the state to receive the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Blue Distinction Centers for Cardiac Care for meeting stringent clinical criteria, resulting in better overall outcomes for cardiac patients.
