The Outpatient Cardiac Rehab program at St. Vincent's East helps you return to your regular routine as quickly as possible. The program is designed for patients with cardiovascular problems, specifically those who have had a heart attack, open heart surgery, stents and/or stable angina. A staff of cardiologist, registered nurses, dietitians and counselors coordinate programs to meet your physical, emotional, spiritual and psychological needs. This combined cardiovascular exercise, monitoring and education is provided in a fun, casual environment.
The program is provided three days a week with multiple times during the day to fit your schedule. An individual exercise plan is based on your personal goals and your own fitness level. During each exercise session, you will wear a heart monitor that provides continuous EKG monitoring. Classes consist of a warm up, cardiovascular exercise and a cool down period. The length of the program varies from six to twelve weeks.
Our Cardiac Rehab program is certified through the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), which means the program is recognized for providing best practices and meeting the standards put forth in their published guidelines.
