Treating coronary artery blockages and peripheral artery disease is becoming easier with new technology known as “cool” laser ablation. Not only a leader in this laser heart treatment, St. Vincent’s East, is one of a small number of Alabama hospitals using medically induced hypothermia procedures to preserve brain function in cardiac arrest patients . Plus, at St. Vincent’s East, you’ll be treated by one of only seven hospitals in the state to receive the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Blue Distinction Centers for Cardiac Care for meeting stringent clinical criteria, resulting in better overall outcomes for cardiac patients.
The St. Vincent's East Surgical Weight Loss Program, one of the first in the Birmingham area, has performed more than 3,300 procedures including Roux-EN-Y gastric bypass (RGB), adjustable gastric banding and sleeve gastrectomy. The St. Vincent's East Surgical Weight Loss Program was the first to offer the adjustable gastric band in Alabama. The Surgical Weight Loss Program at St. Vincent's East has been named an American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence.* The ASMBS Center of Excellence designation recognizes surgical programs with a demonstrated track record of favorable outcomes in bariatric weight loss surgery.

From I-459 East (towards Gadsden)
Take Exit 32. Go straight through the US Hwy 11 intersection onto Edwards Lake Road. At the third traffic light, turn left onto Medical Park East Drive. Go pass the Emergency entrance to the next entrance. This is the main entrance to the hospital.
From I-59 East (towards Gadsden)
Take Exit 134. Turn left at the bottom of the interstate ramp. At the traffic light, turn right onto US Hwy 11. Go to the second traffic light and turn left onto Medical Park East Drive. The main hospital entrance will be on your left.
